SHOW

This play was first staged at Theatre de la Girandole in Paris in November 2009. It has since visited Poland several times and has undergone a metamorphosis as far as audience participation is concerned. The current version is a combination of theater and a drama workshop with the audience who will enjoy an” Elizabethan audience experience”  by being  encouraged to interact and participate throughout the performance just like in Shakespeare’s day. They will also learn about the main characters of A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” „Twelfth Night” and have the opportunity to act out a scene from „Romeo and Juliet,” providing them with an opportunity of trying out acting skills as well as working on pronunciation and diction.

One of the Shakespearian themes explored by the show is that of young love and what happens when other people interfere!  Shakespeare seems to have been of the opinion that lovers should be left alone to follow their hearts and not be advised, tricked or bossed into doing anything else.

Mia Leahy and Tonya Trappe the creators of  “I  love Shakespeare “ have a passion for Shakespeare.   A passion for his themes, his language, his humour, his characters, his creativity, his universality and most of all his deep understanding of human nature, love and life itself. The show is about sharing that passion which they do by taking the audience on a Shakespearian journey of comedy and tragedy, of laughter and tears, of power and vulnerability, and most of all, of hatred and love.

After just one hour, if you don’t already, you will love Shakespeare too!
